About
Projectionfreak is a blog and domain for people who work with, are interested in, and generally obsessed with- you guessed it- projection. Mostly large venue/concert projection but we’ll cover a lot of related stuff like LED, video walls, and the like. My name is Jeff Gooch and I run Projectionfreak solely on my own. I do gear reviews, commentary, and features on things like projectionmapping, high end video, modern dance with video, and generally spectacular things that involve video and/or projection. I like to include people who do outstanding work, so if you’d like your stuff blatantly publicized drop me a line. If you feel like advertising on the site would do your company/project some good, check HERE.

Hi there great blog. I am an event producer and looking to work with a video genius specifically with 4D technology similar to what Nokia did in UK. I have a project coming up and wondering if you can connect with me. 4164514915 alan@serpa.ca
Hi Alan,
The Drive/Nokia gig was pretty big in scope….what’d you have in mind?
hi,
I think your website has some nice projection mapping articles that I really like. Thank you for putting all this stuff together. I really enjoy your website.
I was wondering if it is interesting for you to know about our paintingstation which is a projection mapping system that we use to paint on huge 3dimensional objects like cars or buildings. We would be really happy if you would post about this in your website.

Hey! Just found your site and love it! Came across a video you had posted of the Reel Video Systems, roll-up LED wall. Would love to find out how well that screen holds up at very breezy, (windy) outdoor events. All the videos I have watched and photos I can find, don’t show any type of tie-down, on the bottom corners. Wouldn’t it just flap in the breeze? We would sincerely appreciated any thoughts, from those familiar, with this product. Thanks!
They have a number of rigging options depending on the size of the screen deployed. I’ve seen a lot of there stuff guyed into the ground. I don’t know the specific wind ratings, but Andy Gerber from RVS could fill you in…..give them a call! http://www.reelvideoscreens.com/
Hi,
It’s cool to see that you’ve been writing about surtitles–I’ve got a new concert opera company that needs a projector for our touring shows (we’ll use a portable screen for the surtitles), and we’re clueless about what kind of projector to buy. Can you give me an idea of what resolution I need? There’s such a wide spectrum of prices that I have no idea what to look for. Thanks!
